Our Horses

Horses are loving, loyal, trustworthy…and so much more.

Biggie

Biggie

Biggie is a 2008 Quarter Horse. Biggie is a small buckskin who, in his past, was a very talented, well-trained cutting and roping horse, but retired due to injuries he sustained…he was too fast for his own good! He is well-mannered and friendly, sometimes a little pushy (boundaries, anyone?) and can show his clients how good it feels when they release tension in their bodies. Family of Two Bear River Ranch. Funded by the Goguen family.

Boomer

Boomer

Boomer is a 2002 Quarter Horse. Boomer is one of the most generous horses we know. His history has included ranch work, time in the arena and, up until a few years ago, braving mountain trails with even the most inexperienced riders, doing his best to take care of them. Mild arthritis has “grounded” him to flat work only, but he continues to take care of our newly independent riders on a regular basis. His beautiful soft eyes mirror his acceptance of all. Family of Two Bear River Ranch. Funded by the Goguen family.

Brady

Brady

Brady is available to sponsor!

Brady is a 2013 Quarter Horse-Pony cross. Brady proves that big things can come in small packages! His small size makes him a great fit for several of our PT clients and his expressive ears and body language make him a great fit for riders that need some feedback on their own bodies, mood and emotions. He has a lot of energy and enough attitude to be one of the bosses of our herd! However, he’ll meet you at the gate every morning to share love with his people. Family of Anna Seagull.

Phantom

Phantom

Phantom is available to sponsor!

Phantom is a 2013 Tri-Colored Buckskin Paint. Phantom has the cutest ears! He has a calm, curious personality and loves people. New riders find that he will try very hard to figure out what they are asking of him. He has both a father and an uncle with him at the ranch: Yogo sired him while he was still a stud and Rocky is a half-brother. It’s all in the family! Phantom can be that pesky little sibling when out in the pasture with our horses and if you want a definition of “horseplay”, come out and watch him in action with other willing members of the herd! Family of Two Bear Therapeutic Riding Center.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a 2016 Quarter Horse. Pumpkin got her name because she was born within days of Halloween and is nearly orange (technically a golden dun)! Pumpkin is a social butterfly who will zero in on people, walk right up and then follow them everywhere. She is in training, but is used in unmounted sessions and as support, ridden by Sally, during lessons with newly independent riders. But whatever you do, make sure you don’t turn your back on her if ANYTHING is within reach. She will turn every object into a chew toy! Family of Sally Conrad. Funded by Sally Conrad.

Rocky

Rocky

Rocky is a 2013 Quarter Horse. “Uncle Rocky” is a handsome red roan quarter horse who is used as a support mount for newly independent riders. He is excelling at it! Because of Rocky’s refined level of training, Kat is able to be a solid influence on both lesson horse and rider, helping them to gain confidence as they learn new things. Rocky also excels at tossing the “mega ball” back and forth to participants on the ground. He loves getting scratches and will show his appreciation with an outstretched neck and wiggly upper lip. Family of Katherine Licence. Funded by Katherine Licence.

Sparkle

Sparkle

Sparkle is a 2004 Quarter Horse. Sparkle of the ombre mane and tail…she is a flaxen sorrel and is one of the sweetest horses on the planet. She loves to be cuddled and will frequently reach her nose out to invite a person in for a snuggle with her. She had several babies before being started under saddle and was used as a trail horse. She is often the horse who will carry someone on their very first trail ride and she’s a pro! Sparkle is a favorite among many here. Family of Two Bear River Ranch. Funded by the Goguen family.

Whiskey

Whiskey

Whiskey is available to sponsor!

Whiskey is a 2004 Morgan/Quarter Horse. Whiskey is the benevolent herd boss and feels that conserving energy is an important goal. His ability to read a rider’s intentions is uncanny. Angry on the inside? He will pick up his head and give you a side-eye. Wandering mind while riding? He will quietly walk to the center of the arena and stop. Calm, focused and thinking happy thoughts? You will have a lovely soft ride. And no horse loves a good scratching like Whiskey! If we put our hands up, he will position his body where he wants to be scratched, sometimes swaying and clicking his teeth with happiness. Family of Katherine Licence.

Yogo

Yogo

Yogo is available to sponsor!

Yogo is a 2010 Quarter Horse. Yogo got his name for his light blue eyes. He stands out in the herd with his Perlino coloring; a light cream-colored body and long wavy mane and tail. He was a stud long enough to sire a few babies, one of which is our Phantom. Even as a stud, Yogo had a “live and let live” attitude towards everything. He is our hippie horse, enjoying being used as a canvas for chalk art by some of our clients. Yogo is calm and accepting and is a regular for both in-hand and independent riders. You do you, Yogo! Family of Jayson Peters, Dan Hebert and Mike Peters.

Bunji and Murray

Bunji and Murray

Bunji and Murray are 2016 Blue Heelers/Aussie Crosses. Our two young pups are energetic, sweet temperament pals that want to be around their two- and four-legged friends at any given point. They are a source of constant entertainment for our volunteers and participants. If you ask, they will shake your hand to greet you or wave goodbye when you leave.

Keeping our dynamic herd engaged. Sharing their peace and happiness.
